This extensive non‑fiction reference work offers a systematic topocronological mapping of European architecture from the 15th to the 20th century, focusing on places, authors, and works. Edited by Renato De Fusco and collaborators, the volume is divided into two major parts: first a chronological and geographic catalogue listing approximately 24,000 buildings by year and region, and then an analytical section of some 600 key works with bibliographical notes. The inclusion of an accompanying CD‑ROM allows interactive consultation of the data. This tool contributes significantly to architectural history, providing students, scholars and practitioners with a rich database to trace developments, styles, authorship and spatial distribution over five centuries of European architecture. It emphasises both the macro‑scale of architectural phenomena (chronology, geography) and the micro‑scale of individual buildings and architects, thus bridging archival scholarship and didactic usability.
