Plant Description
The (Gunnera manicata) is a spectacular herbaceous perennial known for its enormous, deeply lobed leaves, which can span up to 2.5 meters in diameter. These rough, umbrella-like leaves rise from thick, spiny petioles, creating a dramatic tropical appearance. The plant forms a bold, spreading clump and produces tall, conical flower spikes covered in tiny, reddish-green blossoms. Native to Brazil, this moisture-loving giant thrives near water bodies, offering a prehistoric charm to landscapes. In colder climates, it dies back in winter but regrows in spring.
