The Fortunella hindsii, commonly known as the Hong Kong Kumquat, is one of the smallest citrus species, producing tiny, round orange fruits just 1–2 cm in diameter. These miniature kumquats have thin, edible rinds but contain numerous seeds and have a tart, slightly bitter flavor. The plant is a compact, densely branched shrub with small, dark green leaves and fragrant white flowers. Highly ornamental and often used for bonsai, this hardy citrus species is prized for its unique fruit and resistance to harsh conditions.
